What is a .co.zw domain?
A domain name is your address on the internet, such as yourbusiness.co.zw. The .co.zw extension is the commercial domain for Zimbabwe, so it tells customers straight away that you are a local business. You can use it for your website and for business email addresses like sales@yourbusiness.co.zw.
What you need before you start
- A name in mind, plus two or three backups in case it is taken.
- Your business details. .co.zw domains are registered under the ZISPA terms and conditions, and names linked to registered companies, organisations, schools, clubs, churches or Zimbabwean places may require proof of authority.
- A payment method. At WebHost you can pay with EcoCash, InnBucks, Pesepay or Visa / Mastercard.
How to register a .co.zw domain, step by step
- Search for your name. Use the domain search to check whether it is available.
- Pick your extension. .co.zw costs $5 per year, .org.zw $6 per year, and .com, .org and .net are $20 per year.
- Add it to your order in the client area and enter your details.
- Pay using your preferred method.
- Connect it. Point the domain to web hosting for a website, or to an email plan for business email.
Tips for choosing a good domain name
- Keep it short and easy to spell. Say it out loud: if you have to spell it, simplify it.
- Use your business name or what you do, for example the trade plus your town.
- Avoid hyphens and numbers, which are easy to mistype.
- Check it does not clash with another registered business.
